Voula is the next area you’ll find in the Athenian Riviera. Although it is mainly a residential area, it is one of the high profile areas to live in, featuring large houses usually taking advantage of the coast space layout. Here you will find organized places with access to the beach, by paying a small entrance fee you are able to experience the Greek summer in Athens to the fullest! These places are buzzing during the summer and offer sun-beds and umbrellas for rent as well as access to all local amenities. 

There are not too many beaches in Voula however there are a few great choices especially for those who wish to enjoy the coastal side of Athens with relatively easy access. 

ATHINES is an organized beach which is also known as the A Plaz Voula’s. This expansive recreational area can easily be reached by tram. The tram’s terminating station is located just a few steps away from the entrance. Here you will find sun beds and umbrellas for rent, several restaurants, massage services and shops. There are also changing rooms and showers. The beach is sandy with shallow waters, ideal for families with young children. There is also a free parking area outside. The beach is open daily from 08:00 until 19:00.

Weekends and public holidays: €9

Reduced price: €4 valid for adults over 65 years old and children 6-12 years old. Students must present an ID.

The entrance fee is paid from 08:00 am until 7pm.

Lifeguard coverage 08:00am until 8pm.

If you are looking for a free beach option in Voula, then heading further south along the Konstantinou Karamanli avenue, just before the Town Hall (Dimarxio Voulas) and Riviera Coast all day cafe, bar and restaurant there is a free unorganised sandy beach with umbrellas.

Moving further along the coastal road which takes a slight curve into the next residential area of Kavouri which translates as the crab. Here you will find another popular free sandy beach which gets very crowded during the weekends. Kavouri is home to some five star hotels therefore the area is popular with locals and tourists alike. There is also an organized section of the beach where you can rent sunbeds.
